    Who are we ?


    ​The Geoguessr Community European Championship is held by multiple actors from the european community of Geoguessr. Many nationalities are represented in the staff, this aspect was truly in the base of the project. gathering the communities together, and sharing.
    ​The official structure holding it is Emgann Esport, which is an declared association domiciled in Rennes, France. 

    What is Geoguessr ?


    GeoGuessr is a browser-based Geography game created by Anton Wallen in which players must deduce locations from Google Street View imagery. The game includes various modes, such as single-player and multiplayer competitions. the player somewhere in the world. His goal ? Find out where he exactly is with all the information he can gather around him.

    Geoguessr esport


    Far from the mainstream esports scenes such as League of Legends, Rocket League, or Fortnite, Geoguessr has long been confined to a small, fun game for geography enthusiasts. But starting in 2020, content creators have propelled the game to the forefront amid the lockdown. .Small online tournaments started to emerge and the community started to build up.

    Attentive to this community reappropriation of the game, the Geoguessr teams are also committed to the development of esports. Since 2023, the game has built a competitive circuit, with an online regular season, continental tournaments, and a World Cup. The most recent, won by Frenchman Mathieu "Blinky" Huet, was followed by more than 250,000 viewers on the Geoguessr channel.

    The GCEC step by step


    The championship starts with all the national and regional competitions and qualifier, there is 10 of them :

    Coupe de France de Geoguessr : France, Switzerland 
    LowLand League : Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg 
    Nidaros : Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland 
    IGPL Masters : Italy, Switzerland 
    GeoBundesliga : Germany, Austria, Switzerland 
    Iberia Qualifier : Spain, Portugal 
    British Isles Tournament : United Kingdom, Ireland 
    Baltic Qualifier : Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania 
    Central European Qualifier : Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova 
    Balkan Qualifier : Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria

    All of them are held by the local communities between january and November.
    When all the qualifying competitions will be finished, the 10 winners will be qualifier for the main event and the 20 seconds and thirds will we qualified for the Last Chance Qualifier

    The Last Chance Qualifier will be held on the 29th of November 2025 to qualify the six other finalists out of the 20 competitors.

    The Main event will be held on the 12th and 13th of December 2025. The exact program is yet to be determined.
